Arcelormittal Foundation

Created in 1988, ArcelorMittal Brazil Foundation develops social projects in the cities where ArcelorMittal is present, benefiting approximately 400 thousand people per year.

The Foundation main focus is the academic graduation of children and adolescents, so that they can become more aware, productive and actively engaged citizens.

Attentive to local needs, the Foundation promotes projects in the fields of education, culture, social promotion and sports, in partnership with the public authorities and institutions from third sector. The goal is to strengthen the local public policies and promote long-term effectively transformative results, such as the transfer of methodologies to the cities receiving the aforesaid assistance.

For the development of social programs, the institution receives financial backing from ArcelorMittal. Aside from the resources made available by the sponsor, the Foundation also invests in partnerships that make possible the materialization of projects registered with the tax incentive laws.

There are also actions put on by the business units, either resulting from their own programs or developed in partnership with local institutions.
